Possible shots
I will be mainly using mid-shots when photographing my artists, so that my audience will be able to see them clearly.

Logistical concerns of the location

The logistical concern of this location
Would be that health and safety by making sure we are shooting in a good area so that none or our equipment gets hurt of damaged, for example if someone trips over a wire.

Location:The location of where i am shooting is going to be in JCoSS Barnet, which is located in North London. i have decided to shoot here as it is easy and convenient, furthermore is fits with the client brief

risk assessment-
Risks
Why I face the risk
How to prevent the risk
High medium of low and high risks
School children knocking over equipment
As we are shooting in a school there will be school children running around and they could accidentally run into our equipment and break it
We will prevent this risk by photographing in a location where students cant have access to so they are not near our equipment
medium-
as expensive equipment could be broken
Students photo bombing
As students might find it funny to jump into our camera shot but we do not have consent to photograph the students
We can prevent this problem again by shooting in a location which students don’t have access to and also by locking the door to that they don’t enter the place that we are shooting
low-
not very dangerous and wont harm/break anyone/thing
Theft/losing equipment
Because there are so many students near by there is a possibility that unattended equipment could get stolen or lost
We can prevent this risk by making sure all our equipment is attended and being accounted for whilst also not letting any students near our equipment, to minimise the chances of theft

med-
it is a risk but not very likely to happen since we are in a secure location with little people around

mood board-
I have chosen to do my mood board like this as the photos use gives a relaxed feeling to the genre, the colours used are also not too bright and the images used are quite plain so that the audience focuses on the main image which is the artist. The different band logos used help me to decide what font to use for my band logos and the text being used in my magazine as it is indie related. The images of artists help me to decide what type of shot should be used when I take pictures of my artist. the mood board helps as i have decided to use mainly mid-shots of my artists in the front cover and double page spread and furthermore the mood board inspired the colours being used in my colour scheme as i liked the relaxed and edgy feel these photos gave and would like to convey to same mood through my magazine, which i will do by using a lot of muted colours like yellow and baby blue as this is similar to the colour scheme of my moodboard. this entire mood board fits my magazines theme as it inspired most of the aspects of  my magazine, for example the bands logo which will be featured on the front cover of my magazine, which this mood board has (band name logos).

Final fonts-
Masthead
I will be using the 'Emilio 20' font from Dafont.com as the font for my Masthead(the title of my magazine). I have chosen to use this font for the title of my magazine 'Reverb' as it is very bold, thick and wide and I believe would be a good font to use or the mast head as it is eye catching due to how big it is so it will catch
my audiences' eye and draw it to the masthead, which is the most important part of my magazine as this will make the masthead more memorable to the reader overall making our magazine brand more recognisable as the font will remind them of our magazine and since it will be the most memorable past they will they associate the word 'Reverb' with our magazine, since the font makes it memorable.

Body copy text
The font I am using for my body copy for the article texts is 'Viridian college' as it goes well with my masthead as the text styles are similar and it is also still very eye-catching, but doesn't draw too much attention away from the masthead, whilst also fitting quite well will the indie genre.

Colour scheme:
With my colour scheme I wanted to go with brighter muted colours to convey the bright but sort of edgy feel of indie music, which I felt these colours conveyed accurately. The colours being used are bold and eye-catching to draw the reader's attention, whilst using the paler colours as background colours so that the bolder brighter colours will be more apparent to the readers. The positives of using these colours is that it will help make the artists being featured stand out more and also get across the laid back happy feel we are trying to show through our indie magazine. These colours fit the theme of my magazine which is edgy and relaxed at the same time since my colour scheme uses slightly dim colours whilst still being colourful to represent the creative but chill side of the indie genre through these eye-catching but relaxed colours.

Final hand drawn sketches-

I have chosen this layout for my magazine as i feel that is it appealing for our customers, and also fits the brief quite well. the main focal point of the hand drawn front page is the artist being featured as i wanted them to be the focus of our magazine as our aim is to promote new upcoming Indie artists in North LondonIn my front cover i have chosen to feature my main artist on the cover, so that i can promote new upcoming bands in north London to gain them some recognition. On the sketch of my front cover i have most of the titles of the articles being used on my double page spread so that possible customers will know what kind of things our magazine talks about. On the hand drawn sketches we have a sky line and a byline so that readers will know that this is a North London Indie Magazine and also have links to our social media and website so that any potential customers looking at our magazine can checkout our magazine on social media and our website. The hand drawn sketch also shows that we will be advertising out USP on our front cover so we can draw more potential customers to our magazine as our USP is being clearly advertised on the front.

The hand drawn sketches of my double page spread show that the focus of the double page spread will be the two main featured artists and they will be in the centre of the magazine. there will be around 5 main sections on the double page spread which will be the body copy and have the main text. at the bottom of our hand drawn sketches on the double page spread will the page numbers and the scalable Spotify code, which is the USP of the magazine, we will also have the bands name written across the top.

Gantt chart-
My gantt chart organising my time from the beginning of the preproduction stages till the creation of my magazine

Legal
Legal issues are very important to take into account when creating my magazine,  I must be careful because if violate any of these legal issues a lot of money could be lost or we could be fined.
The first legal issue to look into and to be wary of is copyright law. The copyright law which gives the owner of a piece of work (which could be a movie or a song) the right to sell and make more of these pieces of work, whilst preventing others from copying this copyrighted piece of work otherwise they could be fined. This affects my magazine as I have to make sure to not use any copyrighted material in my magazine, otherwise Reverb Magazine will be sued and will lose money. Although this law may put constraints on my magazine it also prevents others from copying our magazine when we get it copyrighted and means that we own this piece of work.

Another important legal issue to look at is intellectual property rights, this dictates how we should deal with personal and customer information that we obtain. This means that our magazine needs to handle information in a way that ensures appropriate security, including protection against unlawful or unauthorised processing, access, loss, destruction or damage furthermore this means that Reverb can't keep any personal data for any longer that it is needed. If we breech the data protection act then Reverb Magazine can be fined up to £500,000.

Another law that is important to take into consideration when making Reverb Magazine is the Human Rights Act 2014. When taking our photographs we need to make sure to not get any people passing by in our photos, as they have not consented for us to use their photos as this would breach the Human Rights Act and Reverb Magazine could be sued. So to avoid this we make sure everyone we photograph we receive permission from them and get them to sign a consent form, whilst also making sure not to include bystanders in photos.

Finally the last law I will be mentioning that will affect the making of Reverb magazine is Libel, which is when someone publishes a false statement that is damaging to a persons reputation, meaning that when we are writing articles on artists we must make sure not to include anything which could damage the artists (being featured) reputation otherwise they could sue Reverb magazine and we would lose quite a bit of money, which will have a big negative affect on our business as we are a new magazine so any loss of money is a big loss. The way to resolve this issue is to make sure all information in our magazine is proof read, furthermore all the information given to our customers are true and won't tarnish these artists reputation's.

Ethical
Legal issues can have big negative impact on our magazine but so can ethical issues, as it can give our magazine a bad reputation if we are viewed as unethical and will result in fewer people wanting to buy our magazine and result in less revenue being made from selling magazine copies.

The first ethical issue to be careful of is to not show any of our younger audiences inappropriate material as this could harm them mentally and would upset the public which will result in negative publicity for our new magazine and this will definitely affect the magazine badly since we're a new magazine we won't be able to earn enough money to keep our magazine going due to this bad reputation we have gained for being unethical. To avoid this we must make sure that everything  we show our readers are appropriate for the age group it is being marketed and sold to.

Another ethical issue to be wary of is to make sure not to discriminate between races, genders or ethnicities as this will again affect how man people will want to buy our magazine as no customers will want to buy a magazine if it is known for being discriminatory meaning our magazine will have a bad reputation and will again reduce the amount of customers willing to buy the magazine due to the bad reputation. To avoid this issue our magazine just has to make sure to be inclusive and to not discriminate against any races or genders.

Another way to avoid ethical issues is by avoiding controversial artists as they may have done some unethical things which could draw bad press to the magazine due to the artists controversy as is may be associated with the magazine, furthermore since our magazine is targeted to more of a teenage audience all the controversy may to be appropriate for teenagers reading. But this can be avoided by not featuring any controversial artists or just waiting for their controversy to die down before we feature them.

Finally, it is important that we don't show any bias, and present balanced opinions in the articles we feature. It is important that we represent lots of different voices and opinions, as we want our magazine to be as progressive and forward-thinking as possible.
