Evaluate The Response (D1, U21)

Learning Outcome: Be able to pitch ideas on a proposed media product and respond to questions

When listening to the feedback from the client they said "once your magazine gets better established whats to stop people from opening up the magazine and just scanning the code". From this I understood that I should add some sort of sticker covering the Spotify code so that people won't just scan it and not buy the magazine otherwise we won't make money and the playlist would be a bit of a waste. After some thought I finally decided on settling on having a cellophane plastic cover over the magazine, although it may raise the costs by a bit it will people from scanning the code. With using cellophane we may run into some ethical issues as we are using plastic which is bad from the environment, so to combat this issue we will be using recycled cellophane as this material isn't biodegradable but it is recyclable so this would prevent any ethical issues and complaints we could receive, whilst also preventing people to get the magazine for free.

Furthermore I was also asked if people who already had access to the playlist doesn't that mean that they don't need to buy another issue to access the other song, from this I realised that with every new issue I needed to make a new playlist otherwise people wouldn't need to buy our magazines to access our USP. This feedback was very helpful and i will be using it as it also made me realise that I needed to also make the playlist private otherwise random people would be able to access the playlist by just searching it up. By making the playlists private and separate means that each time u scan another one of our magazines you get an entirely different playlist with new artists and songs whilst also preventing outsiders from accessing the playlists, otherwise we would be losing money.

Another piece of feedback that was very helpful and I will also be using to change and improve my my magazine was that I also needed to change the skyline from 'British indie magazine',  to 'North London magazine' the client said because I am linking the magazine to North London. The reason that this feedback is useful is because it means that I am following the brief given to me by the client. Furthermore linking back to north London in my magazine also appeals to my target audience who are from London  following it is also for me to link to north London throughout my magazine. I will definitely be changing this when actually making my magazine as it is more fitting and also follows the brief.

Another piece of feedback that I received was that my mood board didn't match the mood of my mock-up front cover. Although I do see how this would be important when presenting to my client as it could confuse them I don't believe that it is necessary to change it, as changing my power point to match my magazine won't affect anything as my customers won't see the power point so it won't affect anything and instead waste time, but when presenting to clients i do see how this would be useful. Another thing is that changing the magazine to match the power point is still pointless, as the clients liked my mock-up front cover. so i will not be acting on this piece of feedback.

To conclude i have decided to take on some of the moderators suggestions for example to mention North London on my front cover in my skyline as this will fit the brief given by the client. i will also be making the playlist(my USP)  private so only our customers have access to it otherwise we will have no USP,although theses changes are very useful to the magazine a suggestion like changing my power point to match the magazine will be a waste of time which i could be using to better my magazine. Although i found the feedback from the moderators helpful, I will not be taking all of it on-board.
